Perfect for soldering around gemstones. Tear off the desired size of the blanket, soak in water and use a third arm to clamp around your gemstone. Use a hot oxidizing flame to solder your piece and then quickly quench in water. If followed correctly your gemstone will stay nice and  cool. Used in my Soldering Around Gemstones Tutorial.
